Ground School InformationWho: The course is organised by Martin Axon, Director of a postgraduate course for mature students at London South Bank University. Martin is a BBAC Instructor, gaining his PPL in 1989. He has helped dozens of pilots to pass the CAA's Commercial Pilots Licence examination. The course is open to all, from crew to experienced pilots. Attendees will benefit not only from what they learn on the course but also from structured and informal discussions with others. What: The course covers a wide range of topics from how to decode TAFs and METARS and understanding airspace to the psychological aspects of ballooning. The course ends with a multiple choice paper to assess how much you have learnt. Detailed Syllabus. When: The next Ground School is planned for 12th February, 2005. If you are interested in attending please e-mail me. Where: The next Ground School (February 2005) will take place near Leeds Airport, further details of the venue will be posted closer to the time. Other Ground Schools take place at the Mid Essex Community College in Shenfield near Brentwood, Essex - 10 minutes from the M25/A12 junction. Directions. Cost: The one day course costs £50 each including tea and coffee. Lunch is extra (we usually order pizza) but bring your own if you wish.
